Georgia Like a Local — With the Team Behind GT Hotel
We built GT Hotel in the heart of old Tbilisi because we believe Georgia deserves to be experienced, not just visited. Now we're taking that same philosophy on the road — an 8-day journey through ancient cave cities, Caucasus peaks, and 8,000-year-old wine country, led by the people who call this place home.
This isn't a bus tour with a megaphone. It's a small group of up to 10 guests traveling by private Mercedes Sprinter, exploring a different corner of Georgia each day and returning every evening to the same home in old Tbilisi — no repacking, no hotel-hopping. Your base for the whole journey? GT Hotel, of course.

GT Hotel — Your Home for the Whole Trip

Who Is This Trip For?
If any of these sound like you, you're in the right place.
The Cultural Explorer
You want to stand inside a 6th-century cave monastery, hear stories from a local historian, and understand why Georgia has its own alphabet. You travel to learn, not just to look.
The Food & Wine Lover
You're here for the 8,000-year wine tradition, the khinkali folding lesson, and the supra feast that lasts until midnight. For you, a country's soul lives on its table.
The Active Discoverer
You'd rather take a 4x4 up a mountain than sit on a tour bus. You want to hike to Gergeti Trinity Church, soak in Borjomi's mineral springs, and feel the altitude at Jvari Pass.
Your 8-Day Journey
Touch down in Tbilisi and check in to GT Hotel in the heart of the old town — your home for all seven nights, with no hotel changes the entire trip. Set off on a walking tour through the cobblestone streets: Narikala Fortress, the sulfur baths district, Leghvtakhevi waterfall, and the leaning balconied houses of the old town. In the evening, gather for a welcome dinner of khachapuri, pkhali, and a glass of Saperavi, meeting your guide and fellow travelers over live polyphonic music.

A short drive brings you to Mtskheta, Georgia's ancient capital and a UNESCO World Heritage site at the confluence of the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers. Climb to the 6th-century Jvari Monastery for sweeping views over the two rivers meeting below, then visit the magnificent Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, the spiritual heart of Georgian Orthodoxy. Back in Tbilisi, roll up your sleeves for a hands-on cooking class — fold khinkali dumplings and bake cheese-filled shotis puri in a traditional tone oven — before dinner at the hotel.

Head north on one of the world's most dramatic mountain roads. Stop at the Ananuri Fortress above the emerald Zhinvali Reservoir, climb through the Jvari Pass at 2,379m, and pause at the Russia–Georgia Friendship Monument. Arrive in Stepantsminda beneath Mt. Kazbek, then take a 4x4 up to the iconic Gergeti Trinity Church at 2,170m, framed by glaciers and clouds. Return to Tbilisi in the evening for dinner at the hotel.

Drive west to Uplistsikhe, one of Georgia's oldest settlements — a remarkable rock-hewn town carved into a hillside over 3,000 years ago, with pagan temples, a Hellenistic hall, and tunnels overlooking the Mtkvari river. Continue to nearby Gori, birthplace of Stalin, where the Soviet-era museum offers a fascinating window into 20th-century history. Return to Tbilisi for dinner at GT Hotel.

A day in Georgia's wine heartland, the birthplace of winemaking. Visit family wineries to taste amber wines fermented in buried clay qvevri — a method unchanged for 8,000 years — and walk the vineyards above the Alazani Valley. Stop in the hilltop 'City of Love' Sighnaghi and the Bodbe Monastery where St. Nino is buried. Back in Tbilisi, the day ends with a traditional Supra feast led by a tamada (toastmaster), with heartfelt toasts and polyphonic singing.

GT Tours by GT Hotel
We started GT Hotel because we wanted visitors to experience Tbilisi the way we do — not as tourists, but as guests. GT Tours is the natural next step: taking that same warmth, local knowledge, and attention to detail beyond the city and across the country.
Our Story
GT Hotel was born from a simple idea: Tbilisi deserved a boutique hotel that felt as authentic as the city itself. We restored a historic building in the old town, filled it with local art, and opened our doors. Guests kept asking us the same question: "Where should we go next?"
So we built GT Tours — small group journeys led by the same team that runs the hotel. Our guides are born and raised in Georgia. Our routes are tested by us personally. Every winery, restaurant, and route on the itinerary is a place we'd send our own friends.
